Savills, on behalf of private operator, has sold Seaview Holiday Park in West Mersea, Essex to Park Holidays (UK) Ltd. The freehold was marketed at a guide price of £6.9 million. The site has subsequently renamed to West Mersea Holiday Park.

Set across 31.6 acres (12.8 hectares) of land, the site comprises 222 pitches, which can accommodate up to 219 single and three twin static holiday caravans. A further 185 pitches are privately owned, with a further 35 vacant serviced pitches available. There are also a number of holiday lodges within a private gated area towards the northern end of the park.

Seaview also comes with an adjoining beach, with 125 beach huts, 122 of which are occupied by private owners. Additional buildings on the site includes a club house and an amenity block.

Richard Prestwich, director in the leisure and trade related team at Savills Chester, comments: “Seaview Holiday Park offered the purchaser a fantastic opportunity to acquire a well-established popular site in an excellent sea front location on the south east Essex coast. Furthermore, there are several open areas across the park which offer future development potential subject to planning consent, making this an exciting prospect for its new owner. Consequently, we are very pleased to have secured this deal on behalf of our client.”

Financial support for the transaction came from Scrutton Bland, who provided presale due diligence, as well as structuring the deal.

Luke Morris, Corporate Finance Partner at Scrutton Bland, adds: “This deal enables the new owners to build on the growth and success of the holiday park, and we were delighted to work with Savills to help ensure the optimum outcome for both vendor and purchaser.”
