Bailey steals limelight in 2015 Caravan Club Design & Lightweight Trailer Awards

• Bailey caravans shine in The Caravan Club Caravan Design Awards 2015 and Lightweight Leisure Trailer Awards 2015 with three category wins, two second and two third place entries
• The Bailey Unicorn is the most successful range in the competition with two category wins and two-runner up awards
• Award recognition follows the receipt of £30 million of retail orders for the Unicorn range since its launch in September
• Bailey Pursuit 400-2 also wins the ‘caravans between 750kg and 1090kg’ category in The Caravan Club Lightweight Leisure Trailer Awards 2015
Bailey touring caravans stole the limelight at The Caravan Club Caravan Design Awards & Lightweight Trailer Awards Evening when the results of the 2015 Competitions were announced during the recent Motorhome & Caravan Show at the NEC.
Every range in the portfolio has been recognised with an award, highlighting the strength of the current model line up both in terms of product design and value. The star of the night was however the new Bailey Unicorn range which won two category awards for the Cadiz and Barcelona plus two runner up prizes for the Seville and Valencia. This recognition follows the recent receipt of Practical Caravan Magazine’s ‘Tourer of the Year 2015’ title which was presented to the two-berth Unicorn Seville and certainly reflects the thoughts of the buying public at the moment – with over £30 million worth of retail orders being placed for this range alone since its launch in September this year – re-affirming its position as the UK’s most popular caravan.

Incorporating the expertise which only sixty-five years of experience can bring, the Bailey Unicorn has now firmly established itself as one of the most well-designed and most well-equipped caravans available today. All of the layouts in the third-generation range have been appreciably reconfigured to maximise the available interior living space whilst maintaining their accessible unladen weights to provide a choice of eight great-looking models that are as practical as they are comfortable.
Unicorn’s four-season touring credentials are further enhanced with an upgraded Alde central heating system featuring a new, more economical boiler, a user friendly digital control panel and an additional washroom radiator whilst the new Truma 100 watt solar panel allows you the extra freedom to holiday where and when you want. These well thought-out caravans include a host of new features designed to make your life easier. Ranging from the chef-friendly kitchens offering additional worktop space and increased storage, plus a new slim-line Dometic 133 litre tower refrigerator*, to the fully-equipped washrooms featuring a separate square shower cubicle complete with a domestic style door and integral lighting. Everything has been considered to make trips away in your new Bailey Unicorn as relaxing as possible.
There was success too for the entry-level Pursuit range in the Lightweight Leisure Trailer Awards where the diminutive 400-2 won the ‘Caravans between 750kg to 1090kg’ category. The Pursuit is a refreshingly different caravan range, offering the traditional Bailey hallmarks of quality and value but also possessing its own distinct style to give it an individuality which will make it something people will be proud to be seen in and seen with.
Models are surprisingly light for vehicles which contain so much interior space and as such are the perfect match for a wide range of potential tow cars. Plus through a combination of design innovation and efficiency savings, Bailey has been able to bring Pursuit to market at a price which will put a new caravan purchase within reach of many more people for the first time.
Bailey Managing Director Nick Howard commented:
“We’d like to thank The Caravan Club for running this annual awards competition, particularly in light of the logistics involved, and the feedback we receive from the judges is always useful in helping design better vehicles in the future”.
“The Company has enjoyed its best start to a season for many years in terms of caravan sales and the Unicorn range in particular certainly seems to be proving to be very popular with the caravanning community. It is great therefore to see this reflected with the receipt of these prestigious awards from such a respected source” he added.
