Strong Comedy Line Up for Killarney Festival of Music & Food

Killarney House Demesne, 27 & 28 June 2015

Killarney Festival of Music & Food is delighted to announce the line-up for the Comedy Tent at this year’s festival which will take place on 27 & 28 June at Killarney House Demesne. Funny men Neil Delamere, Jason Byrne, Karl Spain, John Colleary, Foil Arms & Hog, Steve Bennett, Chris Kent, Colm O’Regan, Fred Cooke and Comedy Club 4 Kids with Howard Read & Little Howard (CBBC) will join Après Match and Deirdre O’Kane.

The family friendly boutique festival also recently announced that popular 80’s band ABC have been added to the stellar line-up as well as The Young Folk, Oh Emperor, Tucan, Little Hours, Oh Boland and Elastic Sleep.

KILLARNEY HOUSE DEMESNE
Killarney House Demesne is within walking distance of Killarney town and ideally located for festival-goers who will be staying in the numerous hotels, guest houses, self-catering accommodation and campsites that the town has to offer.

MUSIC
Over 60 Irish and international musicians and bands will perform at the Killarney Festival of Music & Food include Duran Duran, Jools Holland & his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra featuring Gilson Lavis and guest vocalists Marc Almond, Ruby Turner, Louise Marshall & Mabel Ray, music legend Burt Bacharach, TEXAS, The Proclaimers, The Undertones, Father John Misty, Walking On Cars, Damien Dempsey, Wallis Bird, Mick Flannery, Gemma Hayes, Delorentos, Mundy, Paddy Casey, Declan O’Rourke, The 4 Of Us, Something Happens, Colin Devlin, The Frank & Walters, Morrissey & Marshall, Daithí, Kormac’s Big Band, Gangs, Steven Sharpe & The Broke Straight Boys, Tracy Bruen, Lloyd Yates, We Banjo 3, Ham Sandwich, Giulia, David Lyttle, Sleep Thieves and Gingerbeard Family. Additional acts will be confirmed in the months leading up to the festival.

KILLARNEY FOOD VILLAGE
The Killarney Food Village will be an extensive showcase of wine and food not only for the region of Kerry but for Ireland as a whole. The food village will be dedicated to excellence in taste and food lifestyles. The area will feature well established restaurants from around Ireland, local artisan food producers and culinary demonstrations by some of Ireland’s finest celebrity and Michelin Star chefs including Derry Clarke from L’Ecrivain who will show foodies how to prepare Michelin star dishes at home. Food vendors offering cuisine from around the world will also be on site to cater for up to 20,000 festival goers over the weekend.

KIDS
The Killarney Festival welcomes all ages and of course kids under 12 years of age are allowed in for free accompanied by an adult when tickets are booked in advance. The Killarney Kids Zone (KKZ) will have a fairground, giant games and kids’ activities for all ages including arts and crafts. There will also be cookery demos for children in the Killarney Gourmet Food Village.

HOSPITALITY
Killarney Festival of Music & Food will have a range of hospitality options for groups and companies including catered marquees and bars with luxury loos, catering and full bars.

ACCOMMODATION
Killarney Festival of Music & Food is situated in the very heart of Killarney town. There is a wonderful selection of hotels within a short walk of the entrance to our festival and amazing guest houses to stay close by. Irish Rail offer connections from all major rail-linked towns and cities in Ireland to/ from Killarney Railway Station. Tickets may be purchased via www.irishrail.ie

ADULT TICKETS
· Saturday or Sunday Day Tickets €76 (including booking fee)
· 2 Day Weekend Tickets €142 (including booking fee)
· Children 12 years or younger go free – up to two children per paying adult when booked in advance

TEEN – 13 TO 17 Years of Age
· Saturday or Sunday Day Tickets €41 (including booking fee)
· Weekend Tickets €71 (including booking fee)
· Teen tickets apply to children 13-16 years – they must be accompanied by a paying adult
· ID will be requested at entry point to verify age.
