  • When it comes to design, aerodynamics and ride comfort, Eriba set new standards in 2019 with the Touring 820.
  • The modern flagship of the model range combines the traditional Touring charm with space galore and high-end standard equipment.
  • With the production of the 100th Touring 820, Eriba marks yet another milestone in the success story of its cult caravan range.

The Eriba brand has been synonymous with quality and functionality and shaping the world of travel with innovative caravans since 1957. When it comes to design, aerodynamics and ride comfort, the Eriba Touring has been setting new standards ever since the construction of the original “Troll”. The cult caravan is the brand’s only model that has remained in continuous production for 65 years – its distinctiveness makes it the company’s most successful model range. With the production of the Touring 820 in 2019, Eriba succeeded in creating a truly special model of the classic caravan that combines tradition with high-end equipment and all the mod cons. Even the way the caravan is produced is exclusive: to give each caravan its own unique touch, each vehicle is handmade in the factory. The current milestone shows just how much Eriba has hit the bull’s-eye where the desires and expectations of the target group for a premium caravan are concerned: on 5 May, the 100th Touring 820 rolled off the production line and was ceremoniously presented to its new owner. “This special anniversary is proof positive that, here at Eriba, we understand and successfully cater for the demands placed on a vehicle by today’s travel culture. At the same time, this milestone proves to us that we’ve been offering the perfect home on four wheels since day one with our Touring range. Even though we’re constantly evolving, to this very day, we remain true to the iconic design in connection with Eriba’s traditional standard of quality,” says Matthias Binder, Eriba Brand Manager.

Taking space, design and functionality to a whole new level

With the Touring 820, Eriba has reimagined its classic caravan and given it a contemporary design. Together with a headroom of over two metres inside the vehicle, the more generous layout creates a new and unparalleled sense of space. The interior and exterior design of the flagship of the popular Touring range has also been completely overhauled. Without losing its exclusive character, the new, refined details ensure that the design is extravagant and futuristic. Whether inside or outside, the Eriba Touring 820 is truly eye-catching: the typical Touring steel cage construction combined with the cladding made of smooth, silver metal adds an extra sparkle to the classic caravan. What’s more, the 180° panoramic windows at the front and rear are designed to look like a continuous window strip from outside, which emphasises the extraordinary design of the tandem-axle vehicle. At the same time, the panoramic windows ensure that everyone inside the caravan gets the best wrap-around view of the great outdoors. The interior is also notable for the striking and rounded shape of the furniture, which is reminiscent of modern yacht design. The dark, matt furniture finish with bright surfaces and the standard leather upholstery give the interior an extra touch of elegance.

Forward-thinking: The Eriba Touring 820 as a smart home on four wheels

Even though Eriba has remained true to the distinctive shape as a hallmark of the Touring range for many years, the equipment and technology have been continuously updated. Boasting new features that can be customised in countless different ways, the Touring 820 is a modern home on four wheels, even in this digital age of smart technology. One particular highlight of the extensive standard equipment is the Eriba Smart Home control system, which is easy to use and makes life even easier for you. The air conditioning, heating and hot water boiler can be easily controlled on a screen. This screen also provides you with information at a glance about the battery charge status, the filling levels of the fresh water and waste water tanks as well as the DuoControl remote display.
