RENAULT PRESENTS ITS RENEWED CAMPERVAN RANGE EXPANDED WITH NEW TRAFIC SPACENOMAD FOR EUROPE

  • Presented at the CARAVAN SALON in Düsseldorf, All-new Trafic SpaceNomad will be added to the Renault catalogue at the beginning of 2022. After Switzerland, it will be marketed in five other European countries.
  • Converted by French campervan manufacturer Pilote, All-new Trafic SpaceNomad is available in two lengths with four or five seats. Its pop-up roof creates space for two large beds as well as a shower and kitchenette so travellers can set off on their journeys without having to worry about accommodations.
  • Renault will share its hippie-chic vision of the campervan with its Hippie Caviar Hotel show car, alongside the iconic Estafette campervan.
  • All-new SpaceClass Escapade and Master Campervan will complete the Renault offer at the Düsseldorf Motor Show.

ALL-NEW TRAFIC SPACENOMAD: ALWAYS READY TO HIT THE ROAD

Already growing in popularity, the campervan is essential after a period of repeated lockdowns. The flexibility of this mode of travel facilitates the trips even with the sanitary constraints and offers a total freedom. In 2020, after a successful trial on the Swiss market, Renault decided to extend the marketing of SpaceNomad in Europe: Germany, Austria, Belgium, Denmark and France. Inspired by New Trafic and transformed by Pilote, it is produced at Renault’s Sandouville plant and will be available in the network in early 2022. Available in two lengths, it offers four- and five-seat versions and a wide selection of engines, from 110 to 170 hp, with manual and automatic gearboxes (for the 150 and 170 hp engines). All-new Trafic SpaceNomad adapts to meet the diverse needs of its customers in search of freedom without the accommodation or parking constraints.

Renault’s ambition is to expand its nomadic range in Europe, in a market that has been exploding for the last 10 years.
After a successful test in Switzerland, All-New Trafic SpaceNomad extends its scope to freedom aficionados.

TAILOR-MADE EQUIPMENT FOR A WIDE RANGE OF USES

A fully equipped kitchen to prepare meals, in winter or summer, and to deal with any unforeseen circumstances:

  • Large two-burner stove with piezo ignition, combined with a sink with integrated tap
  • 49L refrigerator
  • Stand-alone table for indoor or outdoor use (can be stored in the boot).

Two beds, to accommodate up to four people:

  • Bed in pop-up roof (120 x 200 cm)
  • Rear bench seat converts to a bed (124  x 188 cm).

And an outdoor shower to freshen up at any time.

A PRACTICAL INTERIOR FOR MORE COMFORT ON BOARD

All-new Trafic SpaceNomad offers up to five seats. At the front, it features two individual seats that swivel inwards to create a roomy and welcoming living space. In the rear, the van is available in two configurations: a fixed two-seat bench or a sliding three-seat bench. Day and night, it protects its users from bad weather thanks to an awning (220 cm x 235 cm) and 100% LED lighting (12 lighting units). Finally, whatever the weather conditions, the cabin is insulated, lit, heated (2,000 W) and equipped with a blind.

DESIGN, SPACES, SECURITY: NEW TRAFIC’S DNA

All-new Trafic SpaceNomad unveils a new, more expressive exterior design: horizontal bonnet and vertical grille for more power, full LED headlamps and updated C-Shape signature. Inside, an all-new, redesigned dashboard offers up to 34 litres of storage space in the front of the vehicle and up to 300L in the back. The design has been enhanced with chrome inserts, diamond-cut wheels and metallic paints (including the new Carmine Red). For added peace of mind on board, the van offers new driving aids such as active emergency braking, lane departure warning, driver monitoring system and blind spot warning.

TECHNOLOGIES TO COMBINE NOMADIC LIFE AND CONNECTIVITY

All-new Trafic SpaceNomad features on-board technologies such as an 8-inch touchscreen and an induction charger. It features the latest Renault EASY LINK multimedia system with integrated navigation and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility for smartphones.

HIPPIE CAVIAR HOTEL SHOW CAR BY RENAULT

With Hippie Caviar Hotel, Renault is reinventing the world of campervans, introducing a hippie-chic vision inspired by the 1960s. The show car design includes a bed that extends outwards through the rear hatch, to take in the open countryside, and a roof terrace to feel the winds of freedom. For the 5-star hotel experience, plans to include drone meal deliveries to the front of the roof and even a concierge service are being considered! Hippie Caviar Hotel will be presented alongside an iconic 1977 Estafette campervan.

ALL-NEW SPACECLASS ESCAPADE, MASTER CAMPERVAN

Renault has been a player in the campervan market for 15 years, transforming its Master and Trafic utility vehicles. The Düsseldorf Motor Show offers a unique opportunity to discover:

  • All-new SpaceClass Escapade.

Designed as a leisure vehicle, it offers up to eight seats and a double bed (up to 1.90m long) with its convertible bench seat. Featuring a removable table and an additional reading light on the side, it is the perfect companion for a stress-free escape.

  • Master Campervan

Transformed by the motorhome manufacturer Rimor (Trigano group) and sold by Ahorn in Germany, it offers a “full comfort” campervan based on a chassis cab version.
