Bailey motorhomes put in an impressive performance at the twentieth Caravan and Motorhome Club ‘Motorhome Design Awards’, announced at the NEC on Friday 22nd February, winning two of the top awards.

The all-new Alliance 59-2 claimed the best ‘Coachbuilts £45,000 to £49,000’ category, whilst the Autograph 79-4T was presented with the ‘Coachbuilts £55,000 to £65,000’ award.

An independent panel of judges considered criteria including electrics and safety, comfort, kitchen/washrooms, air conditioning, heating and ventilation systems, technical aspects and stowage.

Although the judges did not drive the vehicles, the scoring still evaluated driving elements such as seating positions, handbrake positions, visibility, safety whilst travelling in the habitation area, front seat comfort and driver ergonomics.

These latest accolades follow a recent run of award success for Bailey motorhomes, which culminated with the presentation of the prestigious Practical Motorhome Magazine ‘Motorhome of the Year’ 2019 title to the Advance 66-2 in September.

Making its public debut at the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show 2019 this February, the new sub-six metre 59-2 is the latest addition to the mid-market Alliance range. This compact new arrival features a parallel seat front lounge, end kitchen and side washroom. As with all models it features a fully specified Peugeot Boxer Graphite Cab powered by a 160bhp engine and is built on a 3,500kg chassis, meaning it can be driven by anyone with a full UK driving licence, without needing the Class C1 entitlement.

With items such as a Fiamma F45S wind-out awning, a Truma 100 watt solar panel and a Status television aerial, all fitted as standard, the Alliance really does provide everything you could need for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

Launched in September 2017 the Autograph range has proved to be the most popular Bailey motorhome yet, with the Autograph 79-4T model in particular, continually topping the best-sellers list.

Built on a 3850kg chassis and measuring just under 8 metres in length, the Autograph 79-4T is a spacious four-berth layout capable of accommodating both couples and small families in complete comfort. It features two dedicated rear travel seats, complete with 3-point seat belts, which together with the fully adjustable driver and front passenger ‘Captain’s seats’ combine to create a lounge catering for up to six people.

In the centre of the vehicle is a well-equipped kitchen, incorporating a Dometic 145 litre tower refrigerator, and a practical washroom including a large ‘granite stone’ finish separate shower cubicle. The layout is completed with a luxurious end bedroom featuring twin fixed single beds, housing a host of interior and exterior storage options beneath.

Commenting on the receipt of these coveted awards Bailey of Bristol Managing Director Nick Howard said:

“Naturally we are delighted that both the new Alliance and Autograph ranges have received this award recognition, and it is testimony to the amount of work that has gone into the development of our 2019 motorhome portfolio”.

Over the past twenty-four months our focus has been on creating affordable innovative products and these latest accolades are an indication that we are achieving this goal”.

Talking about the competition as a whole, Grenville Chamberlain, the Chairman of the Caravan and Motorhome Club said:

“This competition goes from strength to strength and continues to provide an invaluable source of data for consumers looking to purchase a motorhome or campervan. Ninety-nine vehicles were evaluated during the Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show by our panel of independent judges. Huge congratulations to all the worthy winners.”
