Bailey Approach SE 625 named Non-Fixed Bed Coachbuilt Motorhome of the Year 2013
Bailey of Bristol’s pedigree as a motorhome manufacturer has again been emphasised with recent receipt of another top industry award for its debut Approach SE model range. This time it was the company’s two-berth Approach SE 625 model which took the plaudits from Motorcaravan Motorhome Monthly (MMM) & Which Motorhome Magazine when it claimed their Non-Fixed Bed Coachbuilt Motorhome of the Year 2013 title.
Expert and experienced judges from the two magazines considered all the models new to the UK market or that have undergone significant design specification upgrades in the past 12 months. In selecting the winners, the judges considered the functionality of the layout, the build quality and overall usability, as well as how the motorhome performs on the road and on the campsite, right through to whether it offers value for money.
The judges felt that the Bailey Approach SE 625 deserved to win its category, as it offers a surprisingly high specification and very keen pricing, whilst also providing a spacious interior and separate shower washroom.
Editor of Which Motorhome and head of the judging panel, Peter Vaughan, commented: “Bailey has only been in the motorhome market for just over a year but already it’s made its mark, especially in terms of amazing value for money.”
While Daniel Attwood, Managing Editor of MMM and Which Motorhome magazines, added: “These awards are the most important in the motorhome industry. Readers considering buying a new motorhome will use the results to help them decide which motorhome or campervan should be at the top of their shopping list. Therefore Bailey is to be congratulated for producing the Approach SE 625, which beat off stiff competition in this sector to be named the Non-Fixed Bed Coachbuilt Motorhome of the Year 2013.”
Other award-winners in the current Approach SE range includes the Approach SE 760 which was voted Best Family Motorhome in 2012 by Practical Motorhome Magazine and the Approach SE 745 which was declared Overall Winner in The Caravan Club Motor Caravan Design and Drive Competition 2012.
Based on Peugeot’s Euro 5 Boxer cab the new Bailey Approach SE range is designed to be driven with all models featuring a 2.2 Hdi 130 bhp engine complete with a 6-speed manual gearbox, an AL-KO AMC chassis and the Alu-Tech bodyshell as standard specification. This combines with beautifully-styled British interiors, which provide comfort and practicality in equal measure, and a level of specification not normally found on vehicles in this price bracket to make the new Approach SE the complete motorhome range.
Commenting on this recent award-success Bailey Managing Director Nick Howard said “Naturally we are delighted to receive this award for the Approach SE 625 from MMM AND Which Motorhome Magazines. These two publications are seen as voice of the motorcaravanning community and to gain recognition from them means that we have definitely ‘arrived’ as a motorhome manufacturer”
Bailey would also like to thank Warners Group Publications for running this annual competition, particularly in light of the amount of organisation required, and is very grateful for any recognition received for its motorhome and caravan ranges.
