Caravan Cruise Ireland hits the road!

Westport House and Country Park was the idyllic setting for the launch of Caravan Cruise Ireland, a new publication dedicated to the mobile leisure and holiday sector. Introduced into the marketplace by Fleet Publications, Caravan Cruise Ireland aims to satisfy the needs of the caravan, motorhome, campervan and waterways cruise holidaymakers.  The inaugural edition features news, reviews and advice on every aspect of this growing sector of tourism. At the launch attended by public representatives, caravan and campervan park owners and tourist attraction providers, Caravan Cruise Ireland’s Managing Editor, Jarlath Sweeney stated that Stay-cation is the new buzz word in the business.  “Stay-at-home-vacations or Stay-cation albeit recession driven brings with it many benefits – we have the scenery and facilities to enjoy holidays at home and what better way than with a caravan, motorhome or river cruise vessel?” he asked.  “And if more families holidayed at home, our economic situation will improve all the quicker,” he added.

Karl Boyle, the newly appointed Chief Officer, Mountaineering Ireland who performed the official launch of the new magazine wished every success to Caravan Cruise Ireland and highlighted the link between his organisation and caravan and motorhome owners.  “As we promote hill walking, mountaineering, climbing and bouldering, we too enjoy the freedom of the open air and the independence that campervans can bring to our activities.  In fact many of our 10,000 members own campers,” he said.

Jarlath also mentioned that next year will see the creation of the Caravan Cruise Ireland Awards, “which will help to raise and maintain standards across the board and we expect close competition as a result,” he stated.

Caravan Cruise Ireland is distributed free nationwide through tourism offices, leisure vehicle and accessory dealerships and caravan and motorhome sites across the island of Ireland.
