Press Familiarisation Tour – Ireland – 6th – 13th June 2010

Sunday 6th June – Relaxing day at Moat Farm caravan site to recover from travelling. Great views of the Wicklow mountains

Monday 7th June – Bacon and sausage bap breakfast and chance to explore the local area. Visit to Hidden Valley caravan park. The day ended with a meal in Moat farm’s hunting lodge.

 

Tuesday 8th June – Day in Dublin, Guinness, open top bus tour, Jamesons. Late afternoon visit to River Valley caravan park followed by meal at Mickey Finn’s pub.

 

Wednesday 9th June – transfer to C&CC site at Delamont Country Park near the beautiful Strangford Lough. Communal BBQ on site with Whale staff doing the cooking.

Thursday 10th June – Visit to Whale and start of their 200th birthday celebrations. Irish themed lunch at the historic Old Inn, Crawfordsburn. Visit to the Ulster Transport and Folk museums. Dinner at Balloo house. Cooked by award winning chef Danny Millar.

 

Friday 11th June – Trip to the Giant’s Causeway followed by lunch at the famous Bushmills Inn. Private tour and tasting at Bushmills distillery. Tour of Ballyness award winning caravan park. Return south via the scenic Causeway Coastal Route. Splendid supper at the Pheasant.

Saturday 12th June – Visit to a local museum specialising in petrol pump globes and other memorabilia from the early days of Munster Simms Ltd (Whale). Titanic tour including buildings not open to the public. Barbeque at the Hilden Brewery, Ireland’s oldest independent brewery.

Sunday 13th June – Tour ended.
