Unsafe  drinking water is one of the major concerns when travelling,  especially
in developing countries and it is estimated diarrhoeal diseases caused by unsafe
water  and  poor sanitation, such as cholera, typhoid and dysentery, are  common
across the developing world – killing 4,000 children every single day.

Western  travellers are not immune to the hazards of unsafe drinking  water  and
tales of sickness and diarrhoea amongst long haul holiday makers and backpackers
is very common.

To  assist  travellers,  Yeomans Outdoor Leisure is selling  a  low  cost  water
purification  kit that can easily fit into any bag, suitcase or  backpack  which
can provide clean safe drinking water for up to a year providing reassurance and
protection to travellers concerned about dirty or contaminated drinking water.

The  Cleanwater  kits are simple and highly effective water  purification  kits.
They  are  lightweight, compact for transportation and easy to assemble  at  the
point  of use, providing clean water from virtually any freshwater source within
minutes.  The  Kit removes 99.99% of harmful bacteria and cyst causing  diseases
including  E Coli, Cholera, Typhoid, Shigella, Klesbsiella, Cryptosporidium  and
Giardia.  On  average, the filter candle will remain effective for at  least  12
months of continuous usage depending on the water quality.

The  Sterasyl  filter  candle is impregnated with colloidal  silver  to  prevent
bacterial growth removing the need to periodically sterilise the candle  and  it
keeps those minerals in the water that are beneficial to health.

Robert Shaw, Buying Director at Yeomans Outdoor Leisure commented, “This  is  an
essential  bit of kit for backpackers travelling abroad but it also  comes  into
its own as a backup for walkers, rough campers and other outdoor enthusiasts who
might not always be able to find clean reliable sources’ of water”.

Cleanwater filters require no external source of power to function, making  them
effective  in  all  situations where fresh water needs to be purified  for  safe
drinking.
