Great Special Activities at CARAVAN SALON 2012
Airstream Camp: Silver Cigars make Dreams come True
At CARAVAN SALON from 25 August to 2 September (trade visitors day on 24 August) visitors can once again look forward to various special activities and attractions that make dreams come true and which are simply great fun.
They are true legends and have not lost any of their fascination even after being around for eight decades: the luxury caravans made by Airstream that resemble silver cigars with their aluminium cladding. Today’s Airstream trailers are an ideal and an utterly accomplished mixture of retro style outside and highly modern interior design with the latest state-of-the-art features – a combination of ultimate luxury and rugged American construction.
And these legendary extra-class caravans are also on show at this year’s CARAVAN SALON in Düsseldorf. The “cult caravans” can be marvelled at on the outdoor area in front of Hall 10 (Stand 10-04). Here one of Airstream’s typical corrals will be recreated, as found at Airstream meetings in the USA – and now also in Europe. On display here alongside the current European models Airstream 684 (as a “Twin” with twin beds and as a “double” with a king-sized bed in the aft) and Airstream 534 there will also be an Airstream Diner made in Germany as well as historical vehicles (including one Clipper dating back to 1950). Also exhibited – and for sale – will be one of the few special superstructures manufactured at the Jackson Center factory: the Airstream “Oxybar”.

Dream Tour Cinema: Trips to Latin America, South Africa and Namibia as well as to Eastern Prussia and the Baltic States
At the Dream Tours Cinema (Hall 16, Stand C56) Konstantin Abert, Janette Emerich and Uwe Hamm will report on their travels to far-away countries in fascinating daily multi-vision shows with breath-taking images. This time visitors are carried off to various dream destinations in Latin America, they can succumb to the magic of Namibia and South Africa or get a glance of the often still untouched landscape and beautiful cities in the Baltic region and Eastern Prussia. The Multi-Vision Shows at the Dream Tour Cinema are screened daily at 12 noon, 1.30 pm and 3.00 pm. Admission to the shows is included in CARAVAN SALON admission.
