Lunar Announce Sales of £7.38 Million at The Motorhome & Caravan Show

Preston based Lunar Caravans secured sales with a retail value of £7.38 million at the recent Motorhome & Caravan Show (15th – 20th October, NEC Birmingham)
Lunar displayed its extensive new 2014 season model caravans, its Vacanza Camper Car and camper car accessories to over 100,000 Show visitors.
Lunar caravan sales were strong across the board thanks in part to the introduction of ‘Core’ lightweight technology; the Quasar, Clubman/Delta and Lexon all retailed well. The highlight of the Show and the model which saw the largest increase in sales compared to previous events was the new model Quasar.
The popularity of the Quasar can be attributed to the new 2014 design. The new season models have been updated with a full height curved front panel, larger front window and larger front gas locker compartment. The best selling Quasar models at the Show were the 462, a spacious 2 berth model and the 544, a 4 berth, fixed double bed model.
The new model Quasar 564 was also well received; the flexible 4 berth model with large rear dinette that cleverly converts to a double bed proved popular with Show visitors.
The Clubman SI, a 4 berth fixed double bed model and the Clubman SB, a 4 berth fixed twin bed model, continued to be popular with Show visitors and retailed well across the six day show.
Earlier this year, Lunar re-launched into the motorhome market with the Vacanza Camper Car, a compact 2+2 berth camper with the dimensions and manoeuvrability of a fuel efficient family car. Vacanza sales were fuelled by the launch of a brand new range of accessories; two new ‘Freetrail’ trailers were on display for the first time along with a new pole-less, inflatable awning.
Lunar chairman and CEO Brain Mellor says ‘We were proud to display our 2014 range at the Show and delighted that so many quality visitors came to view and to buy. These sales give us a great start to the 2014 season and are encouraging for the leisure vehicle industry as a whole.
