NEW NCC MOTORHOME, CARAVAN & CAMPING SHOW GATHERS MOMENTUM

Low ticket prices and ‘London Experience’ packages

Space is selling out fast for the newly launched Motorhome, Caravan and Camping Show, which will take place 14-19 February 2012 at ExCeL, London. With low stand rates, more than 67% of the floor plan has already been reserved by exhibitors.  As a demonstration of confidence, NCC Events has signed a two-year contractual commitment to ExCeL on behalf of the industry.

NCC Events has been formed as a wholly owned subsidiary of the NCC and has received the support of all the major UK Caravan and Motorhome manufacturers. The industry now plans to run two shows a year with a major show at the NEC, Birmingham in October (11-16 October 2011) and a new regional show at ExCeL, London in February.

The new ExCeL show has been created to serve a large area in the South and South East, stretching from Peterborough down to the coast, which is traditionally not served by the NEC venue. “Millions of people live in this area and research shows they do not normally travel to the NEC shows. By adding this new show, NCC Events now has a plan to plug this gap and make it possible for the whole country to be served by shows which will display the latest models from all the UK’s major manufacturers,” John Lally, CEO of NCC Events commented.

The show takes place during half-term break and expects to draw caravanners, motorhomers and campers from a wide area with attractive ticket pricing and tour packages. Gary Barbe, Managing Director of NCC Events, the show organiser, explains: “We’re very excited about special offers for our visitors. Ticket prices for the show will start at just £4.50 and kids can visit for free.  VIP tickets will also be available which will include VIP parking, fast-track entry, access to a VIP Lounge and more. For those who wish to extend their ‘London Experience’, we will also be offering special deals on hotel accommodation and the opportunity to book discounted tickets to West End theatres and London attractions.

As you would expect, there will also be a campsite at the venue for the duration of the show and we’re working with rail and coach companies to create packages for easy access to the venue. Plus there will be subsidised car parking with free shuttle buses taking visitors direct to the ExCeL entrance.”

Director General of The Caravan Club, Nick Lomas, says: “We are delighted to be a show partner for the new Southern showcase event and to have the opportunity to fully exploit the ExCeL venue for the benefit of our members.”

“The show at Earls Court was always very successful, and the move to the NEC left a large area of the country south and east of London uncovered. We are therefore very pleased that NCC Events have been able to secure ExCeL for the industry to showcase our full range of touring caravans, motorhomes and holiday homes to this important and affluent area of the country.” Nick Page, Commercial Director of the Swift Group commented.

Nick Howard, Managing Director of Bailey adds: “Bailey Caravans is delighted to be exhibiting at the NCC Events show at ExCeL in February next year. Like many of our retailers we believe a major southern show has been missing from the calendar and look forward to offering consumers the opportunity to come and see our products at this prestigious venue.”

The 60,000m2 show will feature new 2012 models of caravans, motorhomes, holiday homes, lodges, folding campers, 4x4s, tents and trailer tents, as well as UK and overseas tourist boards, caravan parks, campsites and day-out destinations.

Co-ordinated consumer marketing campaigns will be executed by NCC Events, their show partner The Caravan Club, ExCeL and key exhibitors.

Gary Barbe added, “We’re really pleased that space is selling so well. It’s going to be a great show. To any business in the industry, I would say ExCeL 2012 represents excellent value for your sales plan. It’s a fantastic chance to talk to your customers, showcase your products and services and acquire new sales leads.”
