Internationally renowned Dallas actress, Dancing on Ice contestant and Caravan Club member Charlene Tilton opens the show

50% bigger than 2011, The Caravan & Motorhome Show 2012 was opened today by internationally renowned Dallas actress, Dancing on Ice contestant and Caravan Club member, Charlene Tilton, with an appearance to follow by adventurer Monty Halls.  A great day out for families and caravan enthusiasts alike, the show is taking place until this Sunday, 22 January 2012 at EventCity, Manchester’s brand new exhibition space.  Day tickets cost just £8.50 on the door, kids go free (aged 16 and under), and there’s free car parking for over 3,000 cars.

Charlene attended the show as a guest of The Caravan Club, following the recommendation by her Dallas co-star and friend, Patrick Duffy.  Charlene comments, “Caravanning really appeals to me as I have spent much time in trailers on film and television sets; and when chatting to Patrick, he suggested visiting the show as the easiest place to start.  With The Caravan Club and all the top brands of caravans & motorhomes on hand, any questions I have should be easily answered with the huge range of exhibitors here”.

TV presenter Monty Halls will be speaking at 12.30pm on the Saturday, sharing his great UK escapes and inspiring visitors to discover hidden corners of Great Britain during 2012, as one of a programme of expert talks and cookery theatre.  Since the birth of his first daughter Isla Grace in December, Monty has talked about scaling back his globe-trotting exploits to spend more time closer to home.

Show highlights include over 200 exhibitors showcasing the latest in caravans, motorhomes and accessories, with The Caravan Club offering free ‘motor caravan manoeuvering’ sessions for novices to build confidence or owners to iron out any bad habits!  A great family day out, during the weekend there’s also KidZone, offering activities including face painting, balloon modelling and a great surf simulator.

As an added bonus, visitors to the show will also enjoy free entry to the co-located Destinations: The Holiday & Travel Show, which is being held in Manchester for the first time in 2012.
