THE OUTDOOR LEISURE SHOW ANNOUNCES BAUER MEDIA’S COUNTRY WALKING MAGAZINE AS OFFICIAL MEDIA PARTNER

The Outdoor Leisure Show, launched last year running alongside one of the UK’s largest and popular consumer shows  – The Boat and Caravan Show – has announced a major new sponsorship with Bauer Media for the 2012 and 2013 events.

Country Walking – Britain’s biggest-selling walking magazine –  is to become the official media partner of The Outdoor Leisure Show. The 2012 event takes place at The NEC, 24 – 26 February 2012.

The sponsorship deal will include an extensive marketing and promotional programme in Country Walking, Trail, Live for the Outdoors and TSI magazines and activity on the www.livefortheoutdoors.co.uk website.

As well as a prominent stand at The Outdoor Leisure Show, the Country Walking team will be presenting at the Speakers Theatre, sponsoring the popular Outdoors Inn and working with the organising team on new features for the show.

Commenting on the partnership Nick Hallissey, Editor of Country Walking said: “The Outdoor Leisure Show is a perfect match for Country Walking and its readers, because we understand that humans are meant to be outdoors. The Outdoor Leisure Show is for anyone who knows that being outside brings out the best in us, whether it’s exploring their local nature reserve, scaling the heights of the Lake District, sleeping under the stars or trekking in far-flung lands.

“Country Walking and its readers share the benefits of the outdoor lifestyle, so we are delighted to be an official partner of the Outdoor Leisure Show 2012.  This will be THE place to be meet outdoor heroes and swap magic moments with them. It will be the place to get expert kit advice, pick up gear at brilliant prices and discover new and exciting destinations. There is no better place to kick start the outdoor year than at the show at The NEC in Birmingham – the natural, convenient UK venue in the centre of England for outdoor enthusiasts to meet.”

Andy Gibb, The Outdoor Leisure Show’s award winning Exhibition Director comments: “This partnership with Bauer Media and Country Walking is a significant development in the growth of a show which in its first year attracted over 35,000 unique visitors over three days.  Their print and online presence amongst those interested in the Great Outdoors will play a major role in raising the profile of both The Outdoor Leisure Show and The Boat & Caravan Show, attracting a new audience to attend next February.

“This partnership reflects the interest the show has generated, following on from the recent announcements seeing both The Camping and Caravanning Club and Orion Media Group through their flagship radio station BRMB, becoming official supporters of both the Boat & Caravan Show and The Outdoor Leisure Show.”
