– The Man Whom added to the line up and Cully and Sully to host Campervan Cook-off

With less than five weeks to go until the first music festival of the summer, The Man Whom has just been added to Vantastival’s already exceptional line up. The Wexford-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist also known as Ian Doyle has been making waves with his debut album The Greatest Event and is kicking off an Irish tour this week. He will play Vantastival’s Paddy Mirage Stage on Friday 4th May.

Cully and Sully will host the Campervan Cook-off at Vantastival this year, one of the most popular events at this unique festival, taking the format of a ‘ready, steady, cook’ style competition with each contestant providing a two course meal from a list of provided ingredients. All meals must be prepared using the equipment available in the contestants’ campervans and Cullen Allen, aka Cully, will be on site to judge the competition and present the prize.

Vantastival is the only event of its kind in Ireland and, now in its third year, is quickly gathering a loyal following amongst campervan enthusiasts and music fans alike.  God is an Astronaut and Cathy Davey will headline the festival at Bellurgan Park, Co. Louth, over the May bank holiday weekend, while this year’s bill also includes The Original Rudeboys, Ham Sandwich, Frankie Gavin & DeDannan, Le Galaxie and Rarely Seen Above Ground, as well as a huge number of up-and-coming unsigned acts.  Other attractions include a ‘scrapheap challenge’, an open mic stage, arts and crafts and a full schedule of children’s entertainment.

Tickets are on sale now from Lastminute.com, Ticketgroup and Xtra-vision stores nationwide and cost €89 for three nights camping with no charge for bringing a campervan. Tent campers are welcome so you don’t have to have a campervan to enjoy all that’s on offer, and day tickets are also available for Saturday and Sunday at €40. Children under 14 go free and 14-17 year olds accompanied by an adult cost €30 for the whole weekend. Vantastival is a BYOB event, which adds to its value for money.
