Damien Dempsey will headline the fourth annual Vantastival festival at Bellurgan Park in Co. Louth over the May bank holiday weekend. Among other acts confirmed to play are trad superstars Altan, Congolese guitarist Niwel Tsumbu, Dublin acoustic roots maestros Tupelo and rising electropop duo Nanu Nanu.  Vantastival has earned a reputation for the diversity of its music and for promoting new Irish acts, and the 2013 line up won’t disappoint. In Their Thousands, Carried by Waves and Sligo hip hop act, This Side Up, will feature over the weekend, which will also host performances from The Inishowen Gospel Choir and seasoned troubadour Mark Geary.   Headliners are still to be announced for the festival and many more acts will be confirmed over the coming weeks.

Vantastival was a winner at the recent Irish Festival Awards and is shortlisted for the IMRO Music Festival of the Year Award. Earlybird tickets are now on sale at just €70 for three nights camping, available from www.vantastival.com until 22nd February only.

Vantastival takes place at the beautiful Bellurgan Park, just north of Dundalk, exactly halfway between Dublin and Belfast. The festival runs from Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th.  See www.vantastival.com for more details.
