  • Premiere of the California “Edition”
  • Record level of California deliveries in the first seven months of 2012

At this year’s Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf (25 August to 2 September 2012), Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will be showcasing the brand’s entire portfolio of camper vans and motor homes – from the Caddy Maxi Tramper and California as a beach and comfort line to the Amarok Pick-Up as the essential vehicle for a variety of outdoor activities.

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ trade fair stand will focus on the California “Edition”, which is available now as a new product for the Caravan Salon in Beach and Comfortline versions.

The “Edition” is distinguished by a matt black-painted roof and “Cascavel” 17-inch alloy wheels. It also features black door handles, smoked rear lights and more black film accents on the tail, on the side sills and matt black paint in the lower area of the front bumper as well as privacy glass in the passenger compartment. The “Edition” is available with Candy White, Salsa Red and Reflective Silver paint finishes.

In the California Comfortline “Edition”, all of the fittings for the stovetop, sink, oven and storage space are white. There is also a comfort mattress for the lower sleeping area. The California Beach “Edition” comes with an insulated box as standard. Other functional extras on the Beach version include fog lights, while the Comfortline features cruise control.

The California’s growing popularity is reflected in its current sales figures:

Between January and July 2012, 4,690 California Beach and California Comfortline models were delivered to customers in Germany and abroad. Compared to the corresponding period last year (January – July 2011: 3,780), this represents an increase of 24 per cent and a new sales record for this period in the year.
