The Annual Eireball Run takes place this year from 13th to 21st August.  Now in its 6th year, this unique charity event sees a convoy of Vintage Volkswagen Campervans touring the length and breadth of Ireland for charity.  Last year over 40 Volkswagens from Beetles to Bays, Type 25s to Splitties took part in the week long drive raising a total of €9470 which was split between the 2010 charities Share a Dream Foundation and Haven Partnership.  Over €40,000 has been raised to date by the Eireball Run.  The charities which will benefit from this years run are The Mercy Hospital Foundation Cork Cancer Appeal  and Focus Ireland.  Participants from Ireland, the United Kingdom and the Isle of Man will be taking part in Eireball 2011.  The run this year starts in Arklow and then will make its way clockwise around the country, down to Sextons Campsite in Timoleague, West Cork and on to The Railway Tavern in Camp, Tralee and up the West Coast taking in Roundstone in Galway, Achill Island in Mayo, Ballyshannon and Fahan in Donegal and finishing up in Armagh for the closing party on the night of the 20th August.   Well over 1000 miles will be covered during the course of the week, which is some task with vans as old as these!

contact louie@eireball.com , participants must raise a minimum of €200 if partaking in the full run, or €35 per night.  For every €10 donated sponsors are entered into a draw to win prizes such as ‘Win a Weekend in a Campervan’ courtesy of www.lazydays.ie, or  Kelly Kettle, sponsored by www.kellykettle.com.
