Dometic inaugurates new European Distribution Center in Germany

Dometic increased its distribution capacity big enough to manage future demands of its product flow to the entire European market. Its new European Distribution Center at Gutenbergstraße in Emsdetten, Germany is a 13m tall warehouse building with 18,250 pallet places.
The new 14,000 square meter site is an expansion of Dometic’s already existing Distribution Center in the same region. The two facilities at Gutenbergstraße and at Hollefeldstraße now provide a total of 51,000 square metres of space for warehousing and distributions.
The new facility is designed to meet future demands and technical requirements while providing a healthier and safer work environment for the employees.
Sustainability was taken into account for the architecture. The new hall is fitted with power-efficient LED lightning and the heating is modern and efficient. The roof was covered with solar panels for a greener power supply.
Peter Kruk, President of EMEA at Dometic says, “We’re building an infrastructure for the future. This modern facility will help us grow with better efficiency and we are now well-equipped for the transformation of the industry. I also feel good about being able to provide a great working environment for our business development in the region.”
With this extended storage capacity, the company is well positioned to support the growth in both OEM and AM markets handling a broad range of products like cooling boxes, rear-view cameras, and professional workshop equipment, as well as the distribution of awnings and air conditioning systems.
Dometic plans to start up the extended central warehouse to its full extent early in 2020. In the following years, the site will be able to manage orders worth 400 million Euros every year. Dometic’s European Distribution Centers in Emsdetten are now equipped for future growth.
