Free-wheeling freedom in 2022 with Camplify

Dreaming of freedom, re-connecting with nature, starry nights and blue skies? You are not alone. The wanderlust is becoming unbearable and now is the time to plan your Spring and Summer escapes. By strategically booking in your annual leave and trips away around the Easter weekend, the early-May bank holiday, August bank holiday and the bank holidays in December, you can create 5 lengthy stretches of down-time, each totalling 7 days or more, owing to how our bank holidays fall in 2022,.

The question is, will people travel? Camplify’s Marie Carponi, Head of EU and UK Operations): “Yes. People are itching to travel. We’re already seeing search demand rise on our camplify.co.uk site. People will travel differently in 2022: this is the inflection point for non-static road trips to take off, because they allow people to travel with confidence, pivot quickly if things change and control their itinerary. Hiring a van on Camplify means camping and caravanning is not only accessible to everyone, it’s a very cost effective option that allow people to wind down, reconnect with nature and wide open spaces – something we’ve all been craving.”

‘Staycations’ will be a key feature of 2022 holidays, giving people the confidence to travel despite COVID-19 challenges and concerns. RVs provide a mostly or totally self contained option for travellers, and van-hire continues to be a popular travel choice as people consider their personal safety and wellbeing while they travel against a backdrop of growing appetite for outdoor adventures and a desire to explore more.

Camplify had a 141% increase in booking demand for the 12 months to 31 August 2021. Further evidencing the self-drive holiday trend, Google Trends shows ‘motorhome hire’ and ‘campervan hire’ searches were up by 41% in 2021 compared to 2020*. Recent research from Sterling Insurance also reveals 41% of those who have tried a van staycation since March 2020 have changed their opinions on travelling by campervan, and find it more appealing than they did pre-pandemic. 76% even said they either want to purchase their own campervan or hire a campervan or motorhome for more staycations this year.***

With Camplify your holiday starts the moment your hands hit the steering wheel, and with over 1000 vans available to hire across the UK, and with growing demand, now is the time to book.

If you’re based out of London, why not hire the ‘Beautiful Escape’, a newly converted  luxury Toyota Alphard pop-top camper from Camplify and travel to Scotland to tour the North Coast 500 .

Based out of Manchester you could hire ‘Moroven’, a T6 Transporter conversion, and drive the kids down to Bude in North Devon for a 4 night surfing break.

Based out of Sheffield this brand new 6 berth luxury motorhome is available to hire, so why not book early to visit the Christmas markets in Winchester.

John Sumpter, owner of Cornish Motorhomes in Truro, Cornwall, saw an enormous uplift in bookings of his motorhome Thesea last year : We saw a huge increase in bookings as a result of the pandemic driven influx of people choosing to take a ‘staycation’ van holiday. But it hasn’t really slowed down since, in fact this month we’ve already had more bookings for this coming summer than we had this time last year. The Camplify concept works so well for us, we get to enjoy our motorhome, but we also get to share it. The reward of seeing families, especially with small children, get so excited to explore the inside of the motorhome; and hearing stories of their adventures when they return makes sharing our van an absolute pleasure.

If you’d like to know more about hiring your van out with Camplify, we will be exhibiting at the Caravan, Camping & Motorhome show at the Birmingham NEC 22-27th February. Use code CAMPLIFY when booking tickets to receive your exclusive discount.
