Hannah and her Volkswagen California!

One of the highlights of attending the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles IAA CV Show preview in Hannover was to meet British Kitesurfing Champion Hannah Whiteley who has tested the West of Ireland waves over the Summer. At the event Hannah described her VW California SE as the “Perfect home-away-from-home”
The latest version of Volkswagen’s iconic camper van provides Hannah with the perfect opportunity to embrace the outdoor life as she trains and competes around the UK & Irish shores. The California’s unique layout and design means she will be able to carry all her equipment with ease, and stay at the beach to maximise her time on the water.
Every aspect of the California SE has been designed to make outdoor living easy, with no compromise on comfort or convenience. Featuring a two-burner hob, a kitchen sink and 42-litre fridge, two full-sized double beds, two chairs and a table that folds away neatly into the tailgate, the California will provide the ideal resting placeafter a hard day’s surf.
The Volkswagen California’s impressive performance and fuel efficient 2.0-litre TDI engine will also help keep fuel bills to a minimum.
Hannah Whiteley, said: “I am over the moon with my Volkswagen California. It will really help me with my training and getting to and from competitions. I have a great deal of kit to carry and the California allows me to do this in style. I’ve got a mobile luxury base, which allows me to train for longer as well as stay over if I wish.”
The loan deal is part of Volkswagen’s ongoing sponsorship agreement with Whiteley, a role that has seen the three-times British Kitesurfing Champion become a valued ambassador for the vehicle manufacturer.
