Hercberg International & Kip Caravan Launch Shelter Caravans

Yorkshire-based Hercberg International Ltd. and the Dutch manufacturer Kip Caravan
have signed a distribution agreement for the Kip Shelter in the UK.
As of this camping season, the compact and quirky Shelter model with a pop-top can now
be bought in the UK. Owner and importer of German manufactured Carthago motorhomes and
Knaus touring caravans for the UK, Mr. Peter Hercberg, is delighted with the agreement:
“We think it is a welcome addition to our current product portfolio and think the Kip
Shelter is a distinctive model which the UK camper has been waiting for.”
Manufacturer Kip Caravan, based in Hoogeveen, The Netherlands, just celebrated its
80th birthday last year. They have been a forerunner in innovation within the caravan
market for many years and have a renowned name. In 2012, Kip introduced the Shelter, a
compact pop-top caravan, in its home market. Since then it has been sold in China, Taiwan,
Japan, Thailand, Israel and Germany. Now it’s time to get the UK camper acquainted with
this niche model.
“We see a trend within the camping market whereby more luxury is being traded for
having a more outdoor feeling,” says Kip Export Manager Ivar van der Leij. “Tent and
folding caravan campers who would like to have a bit more comfort, but do not want to camp
in a ‘white box’ caravan, are the main target group.”
With its low weight (maximum laden mass of 750 kg) and a width of only 1.85 meters, it
can be parked easily on the drive and towed by almost any car. Cooking can be done both
inside and outside, with the variable kitchen.
A Basic model of the Shelter is available from GBP8,995.
