In the same year it celebrates its 50th anniversary, Stowford Farm Meadows, the award-winning touring caravan site with its own successful caravan and motorhome dealerships in Devon and South Wales, has used its extensive experience and technical expertise to carefully develop its own high quality, affordable campervans based on low mileage, pre-owned Volkswagen T5s.

Stowford’s attention to detail and quality is proven by details such as the professional installation of the electrical system and high quality gas fittings, including a specially designed steel locker (with rubber door seal) to store the gas cylinder, all developed and fitted by Stowford’s qualified staff with extensive technical knowledge gained from servicing and repairing caravans and motorhomes for many years.

A dedicated unit has been established for campervan production at Stowford Farm Meadows, and great care has been taken to choose fittings from established suppliers who share Stowford’s commitment to quality and service. This includes: a rear, two-seater RIB seat-bed from Kiravans, installed using an ‘M1’ certified system that has been fully pull-tested to meet the latest EC safety standards; an elevating roof supplied and fitted by Austops; furniture materials from Clarks’ Wood in Bristol, plus bespoke upholstery and alloy wheels from local specialists in Devon.

The standard specification includes an elevating roof, alloy wheels, mains hook-up, a two-burner hob and sink, Waeco 12v/230v fridge and re-trimmed upholstery, with an array of LED lighting, plus a choice of furniture colours (wood grain or white) with a Staron scratch resistant worktop.

A removable table fits in the centre of the living area and can be rotated so it can be used in a variety of positions and has its own dedicated storage in the rear door, while there’s also a separate space to store a portable toilet under the rear seat.

Stowford carefully sources low mileage Volkswagen Transporter vans, usually ranging from 2012 to 2014 models with a 102 PS, 2.0 TDI engine, all with electric windows, air conditioning and twin rear doors or a tailgate, and then adds swivelling front seats (even for vehicles with a twin passenger seat), plus stylish alloy wheels and sidebars to complete the look.

“Unlike some campervans we’ve seen, we believe we have approached the development of our campervans from a different perspective, as our strength is our highly qualified and experienced staff who have really focused on ensuring the highest technical standards for all gas, water and electrical systems to ensure they are safe, with maximum durability and easier to maintain,” said Andrew Noall, Dealer Principal of Stowford Caravan and Motorhome Centres.

“We’re really pleased with the response to our first campervan models, so are delighted to have a tempting selection all ready for the holiday season at our sales centres in Devon and South Wales,” he continued.

Stowford campervans have a minimum 12 month warranty on the vehicle and installation, with part-exchange and finance facilities available. The comprehensive ‘Stowford Handover Procedure’ also includes a free stay at its Stowford Farm Meadows campsite so customers can get used to how everything works in a relaxed atmosphere.
