The CCA Christmas Sale on Saturday 10th December included some weird and outlandish lots alongside over 130 stunning classic cars.

For starters there is an Airstream from the set of the film ‘Rush’ the story of James Hunt and Niki Lauda’s rivalry. The vehicle featured in the film as Niki Lauda’s motorhome base.

1986 Airstream 325 Classic Motorhome
This classic mid-eighties Airstream 325 featured in Ron Howard’s dramatic 2013 motor racing movie ‘Rush’ and is estimated at £30,000 – £35,000.

Back in the mid-eighties the Airstream 325 was the essence of the American Road Trip dream and this 32 and 1/2 foot long Aluminium RV continues to command attention and draw admiring glances.

This Classic 325 dates from 1986 and has covered 79,843 miles from new. It was first registered in the UK in 2007 and has been with its current owner for 11 years. It’s powered by Chevrolet 7.4 litre V8 engine and benefits from an LPG conversion (which should be tested/checked before use).

Much has been spent in recent years at main UK-based RV dealers, including a major renovation/overhaul at LAS Motorhomes. The interior is very original and exceptionally clean and could be left ‘as is’ or fully refurbed to suit a new owner’s taste.

Two Winnibagoes are also offered, great for those with grand retirement or travel plans, or perhaps those on the motor circuit looking for team accommodation.

2008 Monaco Knight 41SKQ – pictured on cover page

Superb, Indiana-built, 8.3-litre Diesel Pusher with a high-end spec and every conceivable extra is estimated at £80,000 – £100,000.

Built on a Freightliner chassis with an 8.3-litre Cummins 360hp straight-six and an Allison 6-speed automatic box. With a full wall slide out and superbly presented in black, cream, beige and brown.

Having covered only 26,000 miles from new and always maintained and serviced, everything is in excellent condition. Amazing open-plan living area with opposing sofas. The kitchen area features all mod-cons including a full size double fridge/freezer, two Smart TVs, mood lighting and blackout blinds throughout. The bedroom offers mood lighting, privacy sliding doors and an en-suite bathroom.

The Exterior has full body paint, large patio awning, outside shower, tow package, and full width underfloor storage lockers. Self-levelling stabilizing jacks. Super stylish, reasonably nimble, low mileage and at a fraction of its cost new, this could be a great introduction to the world of RVs.

2006 Tuscany 4076

Comfortable, all-American 40ft, left-hand drive RV, fully equipped and in regular use over the past few seasons with a guide price of £65,000 – £75,000.

Dating from 2006, this 40ft RV with triple slide-outs has been used as team support this year and is fully operational. Built on a Freightliner XC chassis with a 7.2-litre Caterpillar C7 350hp straight-six and an Allison 6-speed automatic box. Sleeps 5/6 with a fixed double bed, double sofa bed, full size shower, full kitchen and bathroom, dining booth, leather sofas, Lazy Boy armchairs and Smart TVs, as well as storage galore.

Then there’s the Hydroplane:

1961 Blakeney & Wells Ventnor-type, 3-Pointer Hydroplane

Classic ‘3-pointer’ Hydroplane often to be seen racing post war in and around North Norfolk. GUIDE PRICE: Offered Without Reserve.

Commissioned post-war and believed to one of six produced from an original set of Ventnor drawings. Found in barn find condition in the 1990s as a complete but unfinished hull before being rebuilt by East Anglian Hydroplane expert Nigel Ringwood. A build thought to exceed 1,600 hours and a credit to the craftsmen concerned. Motivation now comes from a Wartburg triple-carburettor, three-cylinder engine.

The traditional woodwork is now superbly detailed and has recently been refinished. Having not been used in recent times, an element of recommissioning is to be expected. With the purpose-built trailer, it’s ideal for classic events in Europe or Classic Motor Boat Association gatherings, on or off the water.
