Preston based, Lunar Caravans smashed its sales targets at The Caravan & Camping Show (NEC, Birmingham) taking over £5.2 million in sales revenue. Last week’s Show was Lunar’s most successful February event to date and was the official launch pad for its mid-season caravan models and its latest motorhome launch – the new Landstar RL.

All ranges retailed well with highlights coming from the new Clubman Saros edition, Quasar family models, Vacanza Camper Car and the new Landstar RL. Following the reintroduction into the motorhome market last spring with the launch of the Vacanza Camper Car, Lunar has expanded its motorhome offering with the exciting launch of the Landstar RL – a new 2 berth Mercedes based van conversion.

Based on the Sprinter 313 CDI, the Landstar offers 129bhp, European Whole Vehicle Type Approval, a three-year unlimited mileage warranty, three years’ roadside assistance, luxury interiors, appliances and specification. The Landstar starts from £49,995 on the road.

The Caravan & Camping Show attracted in excess of 84,000 visitors over the six-day event, many of which were families looking for family specific models. Lunar saw a particular interest in the new Quasar 525, a family layout which offers a spacious interior with versatile, double dinette living accommodation.

This year Lunar celebrates 40 years of sales of its best-selling ‘Clubman’ range. The occasion was marked with the launch of a new limited edition model at the Show last week. The new ‘Saros Edition’ was on display for the first time and was received well by Show visitors. The high specification, four-berth range is packed with technology and luxurious fixtures, fittings and soft furnishings.

National Sales Manager, Lee Roberts said “With sales exceeding even our greatest expectations, we are proud to announce that it has been a record February show for Lunar. With a great start to the year, with exceptional early season sales, both Lunar and our dealers are in a strong position for the year ahead.”
