SFA welcomes Tourism Business Continuity Scheme
Responding to the launch of the Tourism Business Continuity Scheme, Small Firms Association Director Sven Spollen-Behrens said: “This scheme is a welcomed support to small providers of tourism services who fell outside the technical scope of theGovernment’s Covid Restrictions Support Scheme (CRSS) or earlier grant schemes despite being closed due to imposed Covid-19 restrictions.
“The tourism sector will continue to struggle for most of 2021 and so today’s announcement will be vital to help businesses survive this period and get back on their feet. A healthy, competitive tourism sector will be essential to rebuilding the economy.
“Unfortunately, many small firms are finding themselves outside the technical scope of the CRSS or other grant schemes and need a lifeline to help see them through this incredibly difficult period. SFA is calling on government to step in and introduce a new scheme for these businesses before it is too late, concluded Spollen-Behrens. “
