Thetford brings refinement to cassette emptying

Efficient and all as modern on-board toilet facilities are, if you’ve ever got the task of emptying the toilet cassette on a recreational vehicle, you’ll know it’s not the most favourite part of camping. Aware of this, and of a growing demand for luxury, Thetford is on the job – figuratively speaking of course!
The market leader in mobile sanitation systems has, together with a German partner, developed two high-tech prototypes of the Thetford Cleaning Machine. Perhaps understandably the company is being a little coy on details of the precise mechanics of it all, but essentially the machine empties the cassette, rinses it and refills it with new toilet additive ready to use again.
Thetford has been undertaking a road show to assess functionality of the machine and consumer reaction to the prototypes before deciding as to how and when to introduce it on the market. According to Thetford’s Marketing Manager Norbert van Noesel ‘Consumers find the machine hygienic, handy and a very pleasant way of emptying the cassette. Emptying the cassette in this way has become a party!’.
Hmmm, much we admire his enthusiasm we don’t see the Thetford Cleaning Machine replacing the water cooler as the social gathering place of choice any time soon. Nonetheless it’s a welcome innovation towards making camping an even more upmarket experience. See it in action in this Youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=obUw0iMySmc
