Thinking About Going Camping? Plan Your Trip Now

A new year should bring new adventures, and camping is guaranteed to bring the whole family entertainment and joy. If camping is on the holiday list for 2014 then it’s best to plan early and ensure that there is an ample amount of time to get all the essential equipment and decide when your camping trip will be.
Planning your trip now will also help you get out of the January blues and will give you something to look forward to and get excited about. January is usually a month of people trying to save money and be good, however some campsites only require a small deposit to start off with and the initial planning doesn’t cost anything, plus there is a chance you will save more by booking your holiday now.
Campsites used to be closed over the winter period, however now more and more campsites and caravan parks are open all year round so people are not restricted to when then can go camping. Obviously most people will opt to go between March and September when the weather is, hopefully, nicer and warmer but camping in winter does have its perks too, such as cold, brisk walks and frosty scenery. So you may be able to go sooner than you think.
January is also the best time to stock up on camping equipment. Many stores and online retailers have sales on at this time of year and you could save a small fortune.
If you are planning to go soon then opt for 3 to 4 season sleeping bags, but if you are more likely to go in the spring/summer than look for 1 to 2 season ones instead. Before you head online or to the store make sure you make a list of the equipment that you will need, and ensure that it is matched to the season in which you plan to go camping. Even though you may want to cut down on the spending it is worth looking now as it could save you a lot of money in the meanwhile.
Even if, realistically, you are not thinking about going camping until August/September time it is still worth planning your trip now so you can get organised and start saving money in preparation.
