Wellhouse Leisure is adding a new model based on the new Mercedes Vito to its campervan range this summer, and as usual with a Wellhouse campervan, it will have a higher standard specification than most rivals, yet still offer great value for money, with an expected the road price of £48,500.
The new Mercedes-based model, which will be called the ‘Moselle’, offers rear-wheel drive, a GVW of 3,200 kg, and an efficient 2,143cc, four-cylinder Mercedes 114BlueTEC diesel engine with a power output of 136 bhp and low emissions that comply with the next Euro 6 standard. There’s also the option of a seven-speed automatic transmission.
The new Mercedes Vito was launched in the UK on 14 April 2015, featuring improved fuel economy and the latest innovative safety equipment, such as Attention Assist and Crosswind Assist.
For maximum comfort and value, Wellhouse Leisure has decided to use the Mercedes Vito Tourer PRO model with long wheelbase, as it is more car-like and luxurious with many useful extra items over the van version, such as factory-fitted swivel seats with twin armrests for the driver and passenger, plus tinted side windows. It also has all the following items as standard: 17in alloy wheels, air-conditioning, Bluetooth, USB and Aux-in sockets, iPod interface, multi-function steering wheel, reversing camera, ESP (Electronic Stability Programme), Speedtronic cruise control and speed limiter, driver and passenger airbags plus thorax/pelvis and window airbags.
The long wheelbase provides valuable extra space inside the campervan, yet is still only 5.14m long, so can easily be used every day. Inside, the Moselle will have the popular side kitchen and wardrobe layout, with Wellhouse’s usual, crash-tested, three-seat reach bench seat that converts to a double bed and conveniently slides backwards or forwards to give the flexibility to carry long or bulky equipment, or to create more living space while camping.
Other standard luxuries will include a Dometic fridge, Eberspächer heater, sink and SMEV gas hob (with the option of a mini grill), LED lighting throughout, plus an elevating roof, which can be ordered with a bed to sleep two extra people. There’s also a 95W solar panel to keep the leisure battery topped up when not connected to the mains hook-up, plus colour-coded bumpers, door handles and (electric, heated and folding) door mirrors.
“The Wellhouse hallmarks of high standard specification, quality and value for money with the premium, car-like feel and image of the new Mercedes Vito Tourer PRO will make a stunning combination,” said David Elliott, Managing Director of Wellhouse Leisure.
