A limited number of Westport Festival of Music & Food 2014 ‘early bird’ weekend tickets, offering 20% discount will go on sale today Friday, 19 July from www.eventmaster.ie The Westport Festival of Music & Food is a family friendly boutique festival which takes place annually in the picturesque grounds of Westport House and Pirate Adventure Park and is confirmed to return for its third year on Saturday, 28 & Sunday, 29 June 2014.
Adult weekend tickets cost €104 (save €26), teen weekend tickets are €56 (save €16) when purchased with an adult ticket and kids under 12 go free. Early bird tickets will only be available for one week (until 27 July) or unless sold out. Early bird adult weekend camping tickets are available from www.westporthouse.ie.
12,000 music fans attended the two-day music & food extravaganza on 29 & 30 June 2013 in the popular seaside town. Festival goers enjoyed a fantastic fun filled weekend of entertainment with music from over 50 international and Irish artists including Christy Moore, Elvis Costello & The Imposters, The Waterboys, Imelda May, The Grand Parade (Mundy, Gavin Glass, Lisa Hannigan, Jerry Fish, Wallis Bird & Declan O’Rourke), Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club, The Stunning, ABC, Delorentos, Jack Lukeman and Julie Feeney; comedy from Reginald D Hunter, Phil Jupitus, Barry Murphy and Colin Murphy with mouth-watering culinary demonstrations by some of Ireland’s top chefs Derry Clarke (L’Ecrivain), Dylan McGrath (Masterchef, Fade Street Social & Rustic Stone), Richard Corrigan (Corrigan’s Mayfair), Oliver Dunne (Bon Appetit) Kevin Dundon (Dunbrody House), Seamus Commons (Knockranny House – Westport) and Frankie Mallon (An Port Mor – Westport) hosted by Norah Casey and Today FM’s Tony Fenton.

The heart of the festival was a vibrant artistic line-up but an eclectic mix of chefs, from the Michelin star supremoes to the skilled country house cooks created a vibrant mix of gastronomy and music.
Julie Feeney tweeted following the festival saying “Big highlight of my year was today in a packed tent at @westportfest crowd all singing and clapping my songs. Thanks for being so fabulous!”
Mundy who played the Westport Festival with The Grand Parade (Saturday) and The Clew Bay Pipe Band on Sunday said… It’s my second time here and the festival is only two years old. I played Westport Festival last year and am delighted to be back again.. I feel that I should be here every year now. It’s brilliant festival.. there is a great vibe – everyone’s happy! My performance with the Grand Parade band was really special.
