……… for the first time in 48 years

Savills, on behalf of private clients, has completed the sale of Wood Farm Caravan and Camping Park in Dorset.

The substantial holiday park set within the Char Valley has been owned by the same family for over 48 years. The site extends to approximately 38.1 acres (15.43 hectares) and includes 92 caravan holiday homes, 142 touring caravan pitches, 32 camping pitches and two farmhouses.

There is a central leisure building incorporating a café seating approximately 30 people, with an outdoor terrace overlooking the children’s play area and a heated indoor swimming pool. The site is permitted to operate as a holiday park throughout 12 months of the year.

The park is located on the outskirts of Charmouth on the West Dorset coast and has direct access off the A35 trunk road, being under a mile from both Charmouth Village centre and the beach. It has been awarded five pennants by the AA and features in the Best of British Quality Touring and Holiday Parks.

Chris Sweeney, associate director in the leisure and trade team at Savills, says: “More people are enjoying a UK park holiday this year as international travel concerns persist, with the majority of operators reporting strong demand for 2021 bookings. The resilience of the sector has attracted continued demand from investors and owner operators with those sites close to tourist destinations and in picturesque locations being favoured.”
