New Tourism Ireland film celebrates Northern Ireland’s connections with Disney’s Artemis Fowl

The spectacular scenery of Northern Ireland will soon be wowing people across the world – in the film adaptation of Eoin Colfer’s fantasy novel series Artemis Fowl, launched on the online streaming service Disney+. Some of the filming for Artemis Fowl took place on the Causeway Coast in 2018.
To celebrate the film’s connections with Northern Ireland, Tourism Ireland worked with Disney to create a short promotional video – showcasing Northern Ireland and some of the beautiful locations used during filming here, including Dunluce Castle and Whiterocks Beach in Portrush. In the video, Belfast-born director Kenneth Branagh tells viewers why Northern Ireland was such a great location for filming.
Tourism Ireland aims to leverage the huge popularity of Artemis Fowl for overseas tourism – reminding fans that it was shot on location here.
