Earlybird tickets are now on sale for Vantastival, one of the best-kept secrets in the Irish festival scene. This unique and brazenly independent event is in its sixth year and will take place at Bellurgan Park, Co. Louth, over the May bank holiday weekend (1 – 3 May). Known and loved for its friendliness and the relaxed, non-commercial atmosphere, Vantastival is on this year’s shortlist for the IMRO Live Music Festival of the Year alongside heavy hitters such as Electric Picnic, Body & Soul and Longitude. Earlybird tickets cost just €80 (+ booking fee) per person for three nights camping and are available online from www.vantastival.com/tickets/.
Situated exactly half way between Dublin and Belfast, Vantastival attracts an eclectic mix of van nuts and music fans from both sides of the border. Campervans of all sorts are welcome and can park on site at no extra charge, but this is not exclusively a campervan event! Tent campers are welcome and make up about half of the festival’s patrons. Vantastival has always been a champion of the Irish music scene, with a chiefly homegrown line up that is consistently praised for its diversity. The 2015 line up will be announced in mid-February.
